Pasta House Co. Annual Great Works of Art Contest
The Pasta House Co. is a restaurant chain in the Metro St. Louis area. Every year, they hold an art competition in which the participants must take an existing masterpiece and incorporate pasta into the composition. The first place entry will be used for some of thier marketing campaigns.
For my entry, I decided to recreate one of M.C. Escher's famous works, Hand with Reflecting Sphere 1935 Lithograph (via mcescher.com). For my incorporation of pasta, I added a table, place setting of pasta and dinner bread, and tried my best to add the appropriate sphere's distortion to the table. My drawing placed second. This piece was completed using graphite pencil on bristol board.
